You might be looking for an apartment near LMU, UCLA, USC, or SMC if you’re a college student or young professional. The neighborhoods near these colleges have many valuable resources for you. Although finding an apartment can be difficult when it comes to staying under budget. Here are some neighborhoods that won’t break the bank:

Playa Vista

Playa Vista is considered amongst locals the “Silicon Valley” of West LA. Located right next to LMU and the hub for several corporate offices, including YouTube and Yahoo, it’s one of the best neighborhoods in West LA for both students and young professionals. With an urban style and many amenities in their apartment complexes including pools, gyms, and security patrolling the neighborhood. Playa Vista is a short drive to the beach (ideal if you love to surf) and it has grocery stores scattered throughout for your convenience too.

Marina Del Rey

Marina Del Rey is another hot spot for housing. Centrally located near LMU and SMC, it’s one of the best neighborhoods in LA. Marina Del Rey is surrounded by beautiful boats and scenery wherever you go. It is perfect for those who enjoy an active lifestyle and love being outside with many recreational parks and biking trails around the city. The calming atmosphere of the marina can make any bad day better. From kayaking with your friends to renting a boat for the day, you’ll happily find your niche in MDR.

Sawtelle is a very clean and safe neighborhood. If you drive around, you can find many families walking their dogs and college students jogging in the neighborhood. All the neighborhood buildings are well-groomed and friendly. Sawtelle is amazing for UCLA undergraduate and graduate students since it is so close to the Santa Monica Pier. It is one of the most famous attractions in LA. Living in Santa Monica can be expensive so living in nearby Sawtelle offers you all the perks without the high price tag that Santa Monica does. You can find street performers wherever you go in SM and plenty of small businesses to shop from. There are restaurants and smoothie places at every corner too so you can meet up with friends and interact with your local community. Locals all go to a spot called The Bungalow and it is definitely worth checking out!

The Westfield Century City Mall is located right outside of Westwood near Beverly Hills. This mall is very close to all of Tripalink’s West LA properties. The Century City Mall is one of my favorite malls because it has yummy food (Din Tai Fung, Tocaya, Shake Shack, just to name a few places) and premiere shopping such as Zara and Nordstrom. Having a mall with all these shops so close to your apartment is perfect after a long day at school or work. The famous Rodeo Drive is located a short distance from Westwood as well so if you want to do some celebrity and TikTok influencer spotting, this is the perfect place for you.

Tripalink wants to help you find a community and feel like you belong. Their coliving properties in Westwood and Sawtelle are top-notch and will do just that.  Most of Tripalink’s rentals in Westwood and Sawtelle are 3-4 bedrooms; they come with utilities included (such as water, gas, and electric) and a secure covered garage for you to park your car. Most other 4 bedroom apartment rentals in LA do not come with the same amenities and the monthly rent is higher. West LA is overall such a fun place to live and offers the best lifestyle possible for young people. You will never run out of exciting things to do and new places to explore!
