Residence Halls on Campus at Drexel University 

Let’s go over the campus housing options for first-year students at Drexel University. There are a variety of residence halls on the campus for students to choose from for their first year living on campus at the university. 


Caneris Hall

Carneris Hall opened in 2000 and was named after past senior Vice President for Student Life and Administrative Services, Andrew T. Caneris.

Millennium Hall

Millenium Hall at Drexel University opened in 2009 and the name was chosen based on a student vote. This on campus housing option is available just to first-year students.

Race Street Residences 

Race Street Residences opened in 2007 on campus and is available just for first-year students.

Affiliated Campus Housing Options at Drexel University

Students returning to campus for their second year have more housing options available to them, including living off campus, as they are now eligible for to reside at Drexel University affiliated apartments in Philadelphia. 


Remember when you’re living off campus that you are responsible for the rent. 


Second-year students and upperclassmen are also eligible to stay in fraternity and sorority houses on campus but this is by invite only. 

Chestnut Square 

Chestnut Square in Philadelphia is a convenient housing option for students at Drexel University. It’s also one of three housing options available for second-year students and upperclassmen. You can even walk to your classes so there’s no need for a long commute. 



What makes Chestnut Square a great option for living off campus is that all the apartments are fully furnished so there’s no need to worry about furniture shopping, the floor plans feature a private and shared bedroom and bathroom options for you to choose from.

The Summit at the University City campus is one of the premier housing options available at Drexel University. You can also bike or walk to campus! Living off campus at The Summit is convenient for students without cars, so need to stress out about being late to campus, it’s also one block away from the LUCY bus loop.

Philadelphia Collegiate Recovery Haven

As part of the national recovery movement across college campuses across the country, The Philadelphia Collegiate Recovery Haven and Drexel University have partnered together to provide a unique residential community for Drexel University students recovering from substance issues. 


Philadelphia Collegiate Recovery Haven offers the following programs for their residents recovering on campus: 


Haven Monitoring and Mentoring Program - This program on campus gives students the chance to reflect on their substance abuse issues, this also includes counseling and communication with family. 


Haven Recovery Residence - This program focuses on a peer-led support community. It provides live-in peer support and weekly sessions with a clinical recovery coach. 


All Recovery Meeting - This meeting meets every Saturday night via Zoom and is open to both Drexel University students and alumni at 9:15 pm.
