What payments must I make before move-in?
After signing your lease agreement, the last month's rent is due within 48 hours; first month's rent and $1000 deposit are due on the move-in date. Please refer to your lease agreement for more specific amounts and due dates.
Are Ellis Apartments furnished?
Ellis Apartments in Tacoma provides both furnished and unfurnished options for you to choose from! It is best to check carefully what furniture is included.
What's the screening process and requirements?
We require all tenants and cosigners to apply, and the application fee is $50 per person for the credit check. All residents must have a credit score above 625, and cosigners must have a credit score above 675 in order to qualify.
If I am an international student, I do not have a credit score. Do I still qualify?
Yes! International students are welcome at Ellis Apartments. For international students, please make sure you provide us with a copy of your passport, visa page, I-20, and bank statements. For J1 visa holders, please provide your DS-2019 along with your application!
Are utility fees included in the rent?
At Ellis Apartments, utilities are typically not included with rent. Tenants are responsible for water, electricity, and internet usage. Costs will vary, so please reach out to your leasing agent for details.
Do I need to open any water, electricity, or internet accounts by myself?
No, you do not need to open any utility accounts. Tripalink will be doing that for you! We will also include more details in your move-in instructions.
What is renter's insurance? Do I need to buy renters' insurance?
All apartments require insurance as a way to protect your rights! The main purpose of renters' insurance is to ensure that if there is a water leak, fire, etc., you will not suffer financial loss. Loss of belongings is also covered by renters' insurance! When obtaining renters' insurance, be sure you understand what specifically is covered by the insurance.
Are Ellis Apartments near the University of Washington Tacoma?
Ellis Apartments are conveniently situated just steps from the UW Tacoma campus. They provide students with modern yet comfortable off-campus living arrangements.
How do I submit a maintenance request? Who usually pays for this repair?
You can submit maintenance requests, and the apartment will schedule a repair person to come to your home. If it's normal wear and tear, the costs are on us; if the tenant causes the problem, then it is paid by the tenant.
When will I receive the move-in instructions?
We typically send out the move-in instructions 2 weeks before your lease start date. Be sure to check your email and contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
