I lived at an apartment building managed by E&J for six years while I was in grad school in Pittsburgh. I was an immigrant fresh out of college, it was the first apartment that I had for myself, and it got me through many difficult times, including the pandemic.
I was very happy with my experiences with E&J. Given that there were many things I was learning about apartment life in the U.S., I found that communication with the management company was very important. Whenever I had questions, they were responsive and helped me find solutions. They accommodated both my more standard concerns -- e.g., cleaning, questions about winter -- as well as more irregular ones that cropped up in the six years I was there. In no time I felt like I was at home and that I could trust the people running the property.
The apartment itself was very affordable and it had just the right qualities that I needed. It was quite spacious for a 1BR and that allowed me to work from home effectively while also feeling like I could separate work from personal life. The building is also located in a neighborhood I grew to love, with lots of trees and fresh air, situated within walking distance to grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc.
Finally when the time came for me to move out, E&J were always open when communicating about apartment showings. They were also very helpful when I had to figure things out with my furniture and belongings. Overall it was as smooth a process as I could have liked to top off a memorable time in my life.
I will miss my Pittsburgh apartment a lot! And I wish E&J the best in the years ahead.
