7050 Hawthorn

Moved to the building a few months ago. Definitely see some characters here. Not sure if these are the same people that keep leaving bad reviews here. But while maintenance tends to be on the slower end and there were issues in my apartment when I first moved in, I kind like felt that could happen knowing I was the first one to live in the apartment so all problems might fall on me first. My unit is very nice overall and the roof has incredible views. I heard they are still updating some stuff in the building right now that were not finished yet. I use the discounted Gym membership they offered me religiously since there are no gym on site. I actually do appreciate management here because they do enforce the rules and take actions for people breaking them. They don't let these people get away with stuff when they try to work the system which from experience are people that usually complain a lot and always try to blackmail management with 1 star reviews. I have seen some guys trying to Airbnb their units or short term rental with lockboxes outside the building and random people with suitcase wondering around. They got cleaned up pretty quickly once management found out. I do find it also interesting that people complain about things like parking when it was all listed in my lease. I was bummed that I couldn't get a spare fob key for my apartment since the rule is one per occupant on the lease. I do understand now why this policy is essential to avoid people subleasing and trying to airbnb their units and protect access to the community as there are a lot of intruders in these buildings trying to always sneak in in general. They offered me a substantial concession when moving in which I always appreciate :) I have been here about 4 months now and it seems majority people just moved in recently but it seems interesting to me how many of these people are somehow complaining about losing their fob keys and such in these reviews so early. I am wondering if this is associated to the issues I listed above since you can only get the fobs from management and they keep a tight leash on things here. Just a simple observation in case some of you read this and think about doing the same in this property.

The apartment management staff are very responsible.
