Frequently asked questions about UIC
How long are the lease terms?
We offer 3~14 month lease terms. Monthly rent varies by lease term. The rent displayed on the website is for a 12-month lease. For short-term leases and longer lease terms, please consult with our leasing agents to get the pricing.
Is furniture included?
At Post Chicago Apartments, we offer furniture for co-living units only. Studio and 2-bedroom units are unfurnished.
Can I bring my own furniture?
Yes, but please make sure your furniture will be needed in your unit. When moving out, your unit should be restored as it was originally. If it was there when you arrived, it should be there when you leave.
What is the application process like?
The application process is easy and can all be completed online. First, you’ll book an in-person or virtual tour with one of our leasing specialists. If you’d like to apply, our agents will then send you an application via email to be completed. Once your background and credit checks are complete and your application is approved, a lease agreement will be sent off for signing. From there, you will pay your administration fee once the lease is submitted.
What credit score do I need to qualify?
We require the credit score to be 650 or higher or a co-signer meeting this requirement.
If I need a co-signer in my Tripalink lease, who's eligible?
Co-signers should have a U.S.-based address and credit score of 650 or higher. Your co-signer's income should be at least three times the monthly rent.
Do you allow pets?
While we love animals, we only allow pets at our private studio and 2-bedroom apartments. There is a one-time and non-refundable $300 pet fee, in addition to the monthly pet rent (Cats: $15/month/pet; Dogs: $25/month/pet).
How do I view and/or download my Tripalink property lease?
We use Docusign to generate lease agreement, and it will be sent to your email.
Do I need renters insurance?
We require that all tenants purchase renter's insurance to protect the home and their own property. You'll be charged a penalty if there's any damage to the house and you don't have insurance.
How do I pay my rent?
We recommend that you pay the rent through Tripalink residential portal, which can be activated after you sign the lease agreement. If you have to pay with a check or international wire transfers, please contact your leasing consultant for details. *Please note that when you are paying through our residential portal, there will be a transaction convenience fee if you are paying with Credit card or Debit card. We recommend that you pay with eCheck using your checking account to avoid this fee.
What methods of payment are accepted?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, bank ACH, Cashier Check, and Money Order.
Is there a fee if I make payments online?
Yes. Fee varies depending on payment type.
How do I get the key to my new place?
We will send check-in instructions a week before you move in, including a checklist with details explaining how you can get your key.
What kinds of community events can I look forward to?
Our community events vary from small inclusive board games, open house barbecues, baking, floral design, fashion shows, and even holiday parties! Events are updated every year.
Are community events free?
Regular community activities such as Game Night are free for community members only. You might have to pay to attend large-scale events, but as a Tripalink community member, you'll enjoy big discounts — as much as 50% to 80%.
How do I call for maintenance?
You can submit a request for maintenance at the Tripalink online residential portal.
How soon will you respond to and complete my maintenance request?
