Good access to transit and restaurants/grocery. Comfortable living in a very urban part in LA. Compliments to the management team who have gone out of their way to help us stay here and resolve any concerns promptly.

Michele was amazing to work with when searching for a new apartment. She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the neighborhood. My wife and I moved into the Sawyer Apts during covid. Fresh paint, shiny new appliances, and a huge empty car parking garage confirmed this was our next home. We have been here for two years now and we have grown to love the neighboring feel of familiar faces and community get-togethers. Michele has been an amazing building manager and goes above and beyond in the upkeep and happiness of the residents. I have had a couple minor maintenance issues and she made sure the engineers were here the day of or the very next day. The building has a housekeeper who maintains the inside and outside grounds of the property while there is also a trash caddy that picks up the trash Sunday through Thursday after 7pm. Sawyer has 24 hr security which is a HUGE plus with all the crazies out there. I look at Jesse as head of security here at Sawyer since I see him all the time at his post in the front lobby. He's personable and friendly at the same time maintains the professionalism that the Sawyer apt needs. Good location for walking to restaurants, markets and plazas. Many amenities such as a gym, rec room, pool, and rooftop lounge area which is nice to hangout with friends.

You will need a government-issued photo ID, proof of income, such as pay stubs, an offer letter, or proof of financial assistance if you're a student, several months of bank statements, your current rental history, and consent to a background and credit check. Cosigner options may be available for students and young professionals. Flexible or shorter-term leases are also offered to coincide with school terms or the start of a new job.

What utilities and amenities will I have to budget for on my own?

There are multiple bus routes along Wilshire and Normandie. You can also use the nearby Metro lines to travel to Downtown LA, USC, and UCLA. The time depends on the traffic and the day of the week. Driving to downtown LA can take 15 to 25 minutes. To USC, it takes 25 to 40 minutes. And to UCLA, 30 to 45 minutes. Plan on taking public transportation for 40-60 minutes to reach downtown LA or USC and up to 90 minutes to get to UCLA, depending on the number of transfers.
